West Up. We’re back with some more great new music and interviews from our people over at HomeGrownRadio.net. They had a packed house this past Thursday night, with several guests. You can read about it below.
Due to Thanksgiving being next Thursday, this week we had an unexpected yet pleasantly packed show this go around. We got a surprise visit from the Black Cloud Music emcee Curtiss King. Kicking off his campaign to be apart of Paid Dues 2012 (an annual hip hop festival), he explains what he feels it takes and why he deserves to be on the line up. We here at Home Grown Radio along with LA Lemon are amongst the first to help sponsor and see to it that this becomes a reality from such a deserving artist! Check out www.CurtissKing4PaidDues.com for more info on how to help and check the progress.
Also in the house was yet another Black Cloud Music frontrunner Noa James, who incidentally we last had on during his campaign for Paid Dues 2011. We briefly discuss the success of that experience plus press play on some new material from a project he has in the works entitled Dionysus Lifestyle.
Next up we introduced Pro City to come and speak on their recently released project entitled Rise of Pro City. They spoke on how that project title alone best fits their frame of mind as independent artists emerging from the LA scene. On an individual level, Money Baggz, Blocc Runna & Street Kash described what they bring to Pro City Entertainment as a whole. We then touched on their video “I’m Cool” reaching MTV, the type of deal they are looking for in a major, plus how they plan to push this project and prepare for the next.
Later we welcomed Long Beach native, Conway Calhoun. If you recall, last time we spoke he was in the beginning phases of preparing an untitled project. Fast forward to now he’s back with Dead Poet’s Society, set to release later this month. With this new project he seems to have returned with an all new focus and determination to creating some attention for the product. He even speaks on the new team behind him plus other business ventures involving Two Twenty Two Entertainment Group.
We finally wind things down as we sit with President and Co-Founder of AOB (All Out Bosses), Mil$. He speaks on the early days of AOB, his preference to play the background role, and flipping a negative lifestyle into something constructive along the lines of music. We also played some tracks off and discussed his recently released project Out On Bail.
Throughout the show we debuted brand new music by Terrace Martin, Brooke Taylor, J Doe, E-40, Quiz, Too Short and more.
