West Up. We just got a new song and press release for a dope collaboration between LA MC Mykestro and producer Rick Hughes. Both have featured on WCR before, Stro most recently for his latest freestyle "Thank U" and Rick for his dope "The Show Must Go On" song. Check the song out info out below!

The west's next super producer Rick Hughes and Mr."BestWestofthe110", Mykestro, combined geniuses to create "We Major" [Get This Doe]. This is new release from both of the guys' upcoming projects (set to release this year) and ArizeMag's + Dj Shanx's Westcoast Wonder's project. With beyond solid production, and even more solid lyrical skills (compliments of Mykestro), these two are ready to press play. Here's the song:

Self-proclaimed " Best west of the 110", Mykestro gives us that "just over your head" wordplay, which is neither pretensious nor arrogant in its delivery. As of late Mykestro has been on a mission, rampaging through tracks such as "60 Barz" (which Mykestro Sr. produced) as well as " 2 Thousand & Now" (prod.by THX) which has positioned Mykestro amongst the best lyricists, east, west, midwest, south, hipster, backpackpacker, gangsta, or what have you.

Mykestro is known to spread his talents equally , whether its creating classic's such as "In California" prod. by Focus or the Emotions on my Sleeve mixtape which proved to be a more than palatable fusion of industry and original production. With co-signs from other noteworthy artists such as Bishop Lamont, Big Pooh of Little Brother, and the like, Mykestro has more than proven that he is a staple in the game.

Inspiration gleened from church music and a lust for production born out of an impromptu introduction to a Tribe Called Quest track, indie producer Rick Hughes merged the two, rise to an innate passion for creating music on his own terms. Coming straight out of Rialto California, affectionately dubbed " the I.E." [ for Inland Empire], Rick has been featured on the Cali Co-op Mixtape presented by Dj Gabereal for the Rock the Bells Tour and on Vol 13 & 14 of 2DopeBoyz.com/OkayPlayer's The Wrap Up hosted by Dj GSlimm. And if that's not enough to earn an audible double-take, his placements with both major and independent up and coming talent only serve to bolster his credibility.

Due to drop near the end of 2009, The Alternative is that blend of creativty and charisma, pen-sive proclamations and straight melodic murder to the ears. It is independent and impervious to labels and forces the listener to just...well listen, and run it back and listen again.
